Case study
In the construction industry, standard solutions are often not enough. Sariv supported a customer manufacturing concrete formwork by tackling a complex technical challenge: automated fastenings in extreme conditions, with irregular holes and difficult tool access.
“When holes vary in size and access is limited, you need a fastener that’s designed — not improvised."
The customer operated a fully automated assembly line for concrete formwork. Main challenges included:
• Automated rivet installation with no manual adjustments.
• Hard-to-reach application areas for the automatic tool.
• Non-standard holes, often not round or with inconsistent dimensions.
These conditions made standard fastening systems unreliable, causing alignment issues, mechanical weakness, and poor surface finish.
To meet the customer's needs, Sariv developed a special rivet for formwork with advanced technical features:
• Custom countersunk head to prevent protrusions or surface marks in the concrete.
• Grooved mandrel for secure grip during automatic application and to avoid slippage.
• Special rivet head designed for tight spaces in automated tools.
• Extended mandrel to reach difficult or deep areas.
• Oval head shape to fit irregular or variable-size holes.
These technical adaptations improved the accuracy of installation and fastening quality, even with high geometric tolerances.
Thanks to Sariv's tailored solution, the customer was able to:
• Optimize automated processes
• Reduce production waste and downtime
• Achieve strong fastening ideal for reusable formwork
• Enhance the visual quality of the final concrete product
If you work with formwork, concrete molds, or automated fastening systems in construction, Sariv is your ideal partner for developing custom rivets and engineered fasteners.
